Titled floors often loose their color after many years of use. The floors still remain a leveled surface. Had there been a technology to redo the coloring even with a different shade or pattern, renovation costs could be brought down. Finishing the renovation and making a dwelling habitable again could leave minimal carbon foot print.
However, high temperatures may be needed to do the job which asks for new thoughts of renovating such tiles. New technologies if made available could even make the floors look not divided into squares.
